Kate Strutt

With qualifications aligned to the PBS Competence Framework and endorsements from respected bodies like Skills for Care, we bring deep knowledge and practical experience to every partnership.

Redstone PBS was founded in 2012 by Kate Strutt, a dedicated Clinical Psychologist with 14 years of experience working in Community Learning Disability Teams. Driven by her understanding and comittment, Kate recognised that Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) held the transformative potential for people at risk of behaviours of concern, making a big difference in their lives.

Determined to develop Redstone, Kate sought guidance from renowned mentors in the PBS field and pursued a Master’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis—the behavioral science at the heart of PBS.

Today, PBS has earned a reputation as a values-driven, evidence-based approach that not only helps reduce behaviors of concern but also enriches lives by enhancing quality of life.

Kate has developed the team at Redstone from practitioners whose experience is wide ranging from working directly in support services and schools as well as completing higher level qualifications in PBS. At Redstone PBS, the values and practice of PBS continues to guide the teams work every day.

Our PBS Values

At Redstone, our values align closely with the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approach—not just in how we support individuals but also in how we collaborate with organisations, staff teams, and families.

PBS blends evidence-based behavioural strategies with the principles of human rights, normalisation, and person-centred support. For people we support, our goal is to improve quality of life by fostering adaptive behaviours and opening up new, positive life opportunities. Importantly, we firmly oppose aversive interventions, as they go against the core values of PBS.

Our commitment extends to families, staff teams, and organsations, where we focus on building practical skills and deepening knowledge, ensuring everyone has the tools they need to make a meaningful difference.

Our Mission

Our mission is to deliver exceptional products, training, and consultancy in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), empowering services for children and adults alike to become places of practice excellence.

Through our approach, we aim to:

  • Enhance staff skills and job satisfaction,
  • Elevate the overall quality of life for individuals with additional needs,
  • Minimise behaviours of concern, and
  • Reduce reliance on restrictive practices.

By embedding PBS at every level—organisational, staff, and individual—we enable services to not achieve outstanding highest standards of care and support.
